STORMLIGHT ARCHIVES - 200 parole - Bivio
There's a simple path to freedom, Moash had said and Shallan now wants to scream on Kaladin's behalf.
"I'm gonna kill him," Adolin says, matter-of-factly. "Not because he has killed Elhokar, not because he's a treasonous piece of crem."
"I'm gonna hold him down for you," Shallan nods, and Veil too (although she'd like to hold the knife) and even Radiant doesn't object.
Kaladin doesn't reply, what should he say anyway? He doesn't want Moash to die, even if he betrayed him, and Bridge Four and everything the Windrunner stand for.
I will protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Kaladin knows why Moash did what he did. Honor knows - or He would if He were still alive - what Moash had thought, Kaladin did too, that it was better for Elhokar to die, and Roshone too. Kaladin and Moash were set on the same path - storm, it had almost costed him Syl's life.
But then they took different paths and Kaladin doesn't know what saved him, but maybe Moash didn't have it. And Kaladin will save him too, even if he doesn't deserve it.
Because Kaladin loved him.
